چکیده

An update of the delimitation genus Bruggmanniella based on phylogenetic analysis using morphological data is presented. In this work, we reinforced results previous closely related genera Bruggmanniella, Pseudasphondylia, Illiciomyia and Odontokeros, assigned here as s.l after controversial molecular approach Lin et al. (2020). We also included species described under between 2019 2020 discuss some aspects evolutionary changes pupal morphology with niche occupation species. The confirm our arranged into three branches: one branch composed exclusively Neotropical Bruggmanniella; another containing found only in Japan; last Odontokeros predominant distribution Taiwan. Our support revalidation synonym Pseudasphondylia.

Another step towards celiac screening.

In 1888, Samuel Gee described a disorder of chronic maldigestion and malabsorption that affected individuals of all ages, particularly children 1 to 5 years of age, that he termed, “coeliac affection.” Although he did not know the exact cause, he aptly suspected that the treatment was some form of dietary restriction, with a reduced allowance of “farinaceous foods,” rich in starch or flour. Mor...

Complement and arthritis: another step in understanding

In a recent research article in Arthritis Research and Therapy ('Analysis of C204 and the C4 binding protein in the MRL/lpr mouse'), Wenderfer and colleagues report that deficiency in C4 binding protein, a down-regulator of the classic pathway of complement, does not affect the development of autoimmune disease. These data support the earlier finding that the alternative pathway, and not the cl...

Checklist of the Cecidomyiidae (Diptera) of Finland

A list of the 356 species of Cecidomyiidae (Diptera) recorded from Finland is presented, which comprises 6 Lestremiinae, 156 Micromyinae, 16 Winnertziinae, 69 Porricondylinae, and 109 Cecidomyiinae. The faunistic knowledge of Finnish Winnertziinae, Porricondylinae and Cecidomyiinae is regarded as particularly poor. Based on species numbers known from other countries in Europe, a conservative es...

Age is not necessarily aging: another step towards understanding the "clocks" that time aging.

Hofer and Sliwinski raise a critical concern regarding a popular practice in aging research of inferring associations among aging changes of different processes from correlations based on cross-sectional age differences. It is shown analytically that cross-sectional information drawn from age-heterogeneous samples is not suitable for answering questions about the interdependence between aging c...
